LOCATION

Dreameast Xiake Island Ecological City is located in XuXiake Town, Jiangyin City in Jiangsu Province within the greater Shanghai region. With the Yangtze River on it north and Taihu Lake a little way on its south, Jiangyin has been an important transportation hub and a key military site since ancient times. It has a long history and rich cultural heritage, and was the home of the famous explorer Xu Xiake, and has been called “the Ancient County of Yanling” and “a loyal and righteous state”. Having the most listed companies in the country, it is also called the “Number One County-level City with the Most Capital in China”.

Based on the travel journals and embracing scenery and culture, the Resort uses the IP concept to build a wide range of activities such as themed amusements, adventure sports, culture experience and a wetland resort, integrating leisure and entertainment content, allowing visitors to explore nature and get close to nature, thereby presenting a unique travel experience to visitors.

DARE TO IMAGINE AND DO

“United and tough, daring to overcome and striving for the best” – the spirit of Jiangyin gives its natives the same passionate and expansive character as the nomads in the north. Their “Dare to Imagine and Do” spirit has also been infused in the establishment of Huaxi Village, the “Number One Village in China”.

JIANGNAN SIZHU

Jiangyin loves Jiangnan-styled music, melodic sounds of sizhu (string and bamboo instruments), filling the air as one walks down her streets and lanes. People seem to know how to play the instruments and play them really well. As an important intangible cultural heritage, Jiangnan sizhu is among national treasures to protect, keep alive and promote.

DELICACIES IN YANGTZE RIVER REGION

The unique geographical location of Jiangyin has yielded distinctive local delicacies – Yangtze River fresh seafood cuisine – including three popular freshwater fish, namely knife fish, Tenualosa reevesli and puffer fish. There are lots of delicious seasonal local delicacies such as hairy crab after the mid-autumn festival or crayfish during the heat of summer, together with local style dim sum such as steamed bun stuffed with pork, all super pleasing to the palate.
